Case 5 Technology & Commercial Audit [incl. Licensing & Company Spin-out] - Biosciences, Medical Applications and Physical Sciences
CSTC’s Principal Consultant, Dr Karl Heeks, was asked to audit a UK University’s exploitable technology and know-how by the Pro-Vice Chancellor responsible for Research & Enterprise. Several licence deals were expedited including; a major US deal in the biosciences sector for a novel protein technology and a licence deal to the major automotive antenna supplier for a novel antenna technology-which was subsequently successfully placed with a leading car manufacturer. Dr Heeks also oversaw the exploitation of several spin-out companies including a new biomedical optics venture with a world-renown expert in optical coherence tomography.
